Harkness Park Engagement Session

Is there anything better than being able to be a part of someone's love story? No. Well, yes. The part where you get to witness the ACTUAL proposal. Were there tears? For sure. Was there screaming? Yup. Was it from me? Most definitely!

James and Amber had a couple session booked with me at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT. It wasn't soon after the date was set that James reached out to me with his plan. I IMMEDIATELY freaked out. This couples session was about to turn into an engagement session at sunset. There wasn't a lot of time between then and our session, so we quickly got to planning how the day would go and how I would cue him to pop the question.

The first part of the session was going great, but I know deep down James was sweating. I mean, I hope he was because the adrenaline running through me leading up to that moment was next level!

Then it was time. I had them stand back to back and took some absolutely stunning pictures of Amber. She is so gorgeous and radiates a pure joy for life. I took some pictures of James to give him the signal that it was time and caught his excited and nervous smile knowing that he was about to change their lives forever.

These two are best friends, and soul mates and it's so obvious to everyone that knows them that they belong together. After they were officially engaged, they ran off into ocean towards the sunset that was hung in the sky just for them to start their forever.

I am so excited to continue telling their love story at their wedding at The Mansion at Bald Hill in Woodstock, CT next April!
