Engagement Photos In CT

Inspired by Yellowstone the series

If you've ever been on my instagram, you know that I am OBSESSED with Yellowstone and binged five seasons in an embarrassingly short period of time. When Becca reached out to me about their engagement photos and said her and Alex wanted to do a Yellowstone inspired shoot, the answer was IMMEDIATELY YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

We don't have Big Sky mountains out here, but I wasn't content with just having their session at one of my regular locations. I got to work finding a new location that would fit the vibe we needed here in Connecticut. Engagement Photos in CT but make it Yellowstone! I put out the call for help on my Facebook and almost instantly someone reached out to me and told me we could shoot on their ranch and use their horses.

I don't know how to explain to you the level excitement I had when she said that, but here's a brief description of my reaction to finding out we got to play with horses during our session- jumping up and down, twerking, screaming, crying, cartwheels, backflips.......ok now I'm getting carried away, but to be honest it wasn't too far off, save the cartwheels and backflips.

Alex and Becca met at an annual run for veterans. Becca immediately caught Alex's eye and he had to get to know her. He made his move and the rest is history! They grew close quickly and decided to spend the rest of their lives together. They're the perfect pair and compliment each other so well. They both love archery, hunting, and country music. They got engaged in Nashville! Hearing Alex recount the day of the engagement, they way he was feeling, and the excitement following was AMAZING. I totally got teary eyed. The way they love each other is so raw and real and above all, inspiring.

The day of their session we were introduced to the horses that would be around and took in the lush greenery where unbeknownst to us, actual magic would take place. I mean, off the charts, only seen in movies, beyond my wildest dreams kind of magic. I had high hopes for doing engagement photos in CT with a Yellowstone twist, but this was beyond what I imagined. My creative soul came alive!

Being a Connecticut wedding photographer means that I have the amazing opportunity to create space for couples to connect in a way that they may not have been able to before because of the craziness that life is. Alex and Becca are insanely busy people but still make the time to be with each other and be present and THAT is important. It's so evident in their photos how deeply they care for each other and how comfortable they are being with each other.

It was a serious honor and pleasure to create this for them. Don't be afraid to make your engagement photos in CT personal to what makes sense for your relationship. Whether that's a coffee date, getting some ice cream, hanging out on a roof top watching the sunset, or soaking in each other's love on the hottest day of the year. Brainstorm with me to come up with something you'll love and cherish.
